If Tobber was poking at temporal physics, Agatha will probably want to dig into his research notes. Likewise the people with Prende's Lantern -- who may have done him in and, if so, likely stolen notes and/or equipment.

I wonder if the scary monsters associated with temporal equations are the Dreen?

Dreen are the only ones we know so far.
Other than that Huge Tentacle Thing (in Mechanicsburg) and the Muse of Time, but neither of those is likely.

I'm reminded of Charles Stross's universe, where the mere expression of certain mathematical formulas can open portals to monstrous dimensions.
