Perhaps she's taken a level in Dashing Swordsman and is immune to harm from shattered glass.

Also, the airship appears to be flying at the speed of plot.

Why on earth is there a big red button that blows multiple gas chambers at once? Are there that many emergencies where an airship needs to crash land *now* and there are no other options? Wulfenbach ships can do a scary fast controlled drop, which seems a better option.

In this world, I can easily imagine situations in which it's better to get out of the sky *now* rather than be a sitting duck high up.

In that particular case, landing too near Mechanicsburg would probably be almost as bad as being caught in the air by the torchmen. Sudden extreme weather, perhaps, or things like Gil's lightning rod ... maybe?
