She doesn't mention Krosp and the Bears as part of "our party" implying she had Krosp secure a sub off page.

The "other Jägers" could just be Oggie and Maxim. Not quite evidence he knows who and what Higgs is.

Not quite as high as "She always fed me", though given what they've gone through, I don't think that anyone could be given that accolade in all honesty.

The last panel reminds me of Penfold in the "Danger Mouse" cartoons. His eyebrows often floated over his head.

I still don't think Violetta's dead. No one's found a body.

Well, our current setup is:

- Missing young woman
- The place is full of deranged cultists

And what do deranged cultists do? Well, one thing they often do is sacrifice young women to their eldritch god!

I'd say there is a fair chance that Agatha will shortly find Violetta chained to an altar (or the pseudosciency equivalent) somewhere down there.

Yeah, I don't like him but I can appreciate his feelings, and he's going to be CRUSHED if Violetta turns up really dead. So will we, so we'll be riding the angst train with him.

He did care about her, that's why he had her sent to Mechanicsburg. Man, I'm not looking forward to that, he WILL be crushed. She better not be dead!

From the narrative perspective, a very strong emphasis was put on discussion about Violetta being dead (first Ariadne, then Zeetha, and finally Tarvek/Krosp). Krosps insensitive remark and Tarvek's subsequent shock are just indicators of the impending catharsis. The tension can only be released once she reemerges from the shadows alive and well.

A wager, anyone?
