Of course it could just be that Oggie is patting Rakethorn on the part that just went "Skreeee" across the pavement. :)

Yes, Rakethorn's expression in the last panel says that he expected the monsters to kill everyone else, either by attacking or by exploding. The question is still whom he's working for or with. Mass killing doesn't seem like Albia's style. Unsuccessful mass killing, even less so.

The shoulder that just got patted looks distinctly rough compared to the first panel. Could be he's going to scream in pain next page.

Yeah I interpreted it as him shrieking in pain since his bare back just took two explosions and sliding along a cave floor and Oggy just smacked it.
