The Works

My copy of The Works arrived and I noticed something interesting...

first, I noticed that the Master Payne card lists him as a spark. I didn't think he was actually a spark himself, just a magician (for what that is worth in the GG universe)

Second, and this is pretty big. There is a card with a picture of "The Enigma" labeled "Lucrezia, AKA "The Other"

Have the Foglios ever, previously, said for certain that "The Engima" (The "LIKE THAT" construct creation in the time window from Waaayyyy back on page 4 of volume 1) Was The Other??

I personally (and probably a lot of you) have thought from the moment we first met Moxona, and then Tinka and Anevka that there was a connection to the Enigma, and was more certain when Lucrezia took over Anevkas body that this form would eventually become the Enigma.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

There isn't anything interesting/revealing in the rest of the cards. Just some nice art.

One of the things I've wondered about is whether Anevka's clank body is a Chekhov's Gun. Tarvek built a voice override into that body and used it when Anevka attacked him. Is Enigma still wearing that body? WIll Tarvek's ability to immobilize it be a plot point in some future confrontation?

I always thought Master Payne was a spark. I mean, he runs a circus of sparks, so he's got to be at least a LITTLE sparky. He might be more even-tempered and rational than most sparks, implying that he's not a very strong spark, but he's sparky enough to do some things.
