Violetta being badassed

I have never fully understood Violetta's belief she was a bad smoke knight. She is certainly being awesome here.

To be fair, some of the other Smoke Knights we've seen have been extraordinary. She's also improved quite a lot since her first appearance.

I think she was "bad" in part because her heart wasn't in it. Now, after she was"adopted" by Agatha, it is.

I hope that Violetta said that to provoke an attack, because otherwise it was foolish.

Drawing two guns and two knives against an opponent who's beyond arm's reach, rather than getting off one good shot or throw by surprise, seems like an amateurish way of fighting. Violetta shouldn't have much trouble unless there's a further surprise in store — which there always is.

Also, she might have deduced that surprise was impossible, and resorted to overwhelming force as soon as possible.
