He has a point.
The big picture, however, is much less murky. I mean, not counting various odd orders, Klaus used a weasel as evidence (which he obviously did not renounce later), then tried to wipe out the Vespiary team, then locked himself up as well as he could. This smells odd, and has one simple explanation.

The denunciation of Gilgamesh is critical because the wasp eater proved that at least one of the Wulfenbachs was infected at that time. If Gilgamesh can be proven clean, Klaus is therefore infected.

I thought that Klaus had a fake wasp eater that alarmed on command, and didn't risk having a real one in proximity.
