Nonsense! There are pirate kings and queens and therefore must be Europeans of piratical descent. They come from those kingdoms.

And those kingdoms may be nomadic, which might be a reason why the Sturmvoraus goon doesn't recognise them as such. I think of whole generations of pirate clans living their lives on airships, with a few "friendly ports" here and there where they can offload their spoils and take on supplies, but which aren't actually their own territory. It might be difficult for a landlubber to understand the concept of a "Kingdom" that isn't topograhical in nature.

As far as I understand it, 'Europan' is the correct form?

Yeah, that's how I understand it too. This version of Europe is called Europa (which is the most common European version of the word, incidentally), so it makes sense that the adjective would be different too, if nothing else just to distinguish it from our world.

As for using different spellings for the same word or name, that's not really something new for the Professors. Cf. Zardeliv/Zardilev, which even persisted into the print version.
