It’s not at all clear that this thing still works or carried by Higgs.
Shurdlu hit the other half, and the “leedle face toy” wasn’t seen ever since.
On the upside, the chances are good that Higgs learned at least some Skif from Zeetha, and Zantabraxus picked some of Europan pidgin from Klaus. So he will not be limited to trying to communicate with gestures only.

Though it is somewhat amusing to think of how he might attempt to communicate "I'm dating your daughter" with just gestures....

We've heard about Zeetha conveying similar concepts by gesture, so it's entirely possible that it's a cultural norm in Skifander. Albeit well out of Higgs's usual comfort zone.

Hmm. When Zantabraxus sent Zeetha on her mission to Europa, had she already taught her some German? (Or Hungarian, or whatever.) When did Zeetha learn any of the languages of Europa -- before or after she was captured by pirates?

For that matter, does Zeetha speak English? Or French? Or is everyone using some lingua franca that never evolved in our universe?

The whole question of what languages Europa uses is vague. There are many German-derived terms, especially names (Wulfenbach, Sturmvoraus, Jäger, etc.), so that language is probably in wide use. In Paris they use something like the French we know. English is everywhere, but it's not clear how much should be taken as "real" English and how much as the "Common Tongue" for the reader's convenience. With the exceptions of Skiff and Geister, people never run into language barriers. It's been claimed that Romanian is the common language of the Wulfenbach empire; I don't know the language at all, so I can't judge what influences it shows.

For the most part, the Foglios have hand-waved the language issues.

My point is why all the buildup about the Brek'Kah stone just to smash it? I was expecting it to be reunited with it's partner in Skifander. Now it is lost forever. Why hint at powers then?

Zeetha's amulet would be useful for Higgs to show Zantabraxus. But the way things are going, we'll have to wait to find out if he has it.
