Adventure and Mad Science, definitely. Not a lot of romance in this chunk of the party. Zeetha and Higgs, and Rakethorn pursuing Agatha, and ... that's it? Maxim flirting with everyone, maybe. Bang and Zeetha's relationship is likely to be interesting, but romance seems highly unlikely, and I'm looking forward more time with Neena, but largely the party's various love interests are on the continent. (I wonder if Rakethorn has someone else he'd rather be spending time with?) Steelgarter and Madwa seem unlikely to be prioritizing romance at the moment, but who knows?
Any thoughts on who Violetta is going to end up with? It seems hinted at that she likes Morloch, but if she's planning to eventually settle down in Mechanicsburg then I think Van might be a good partner.
I think Violetta likes Von Zinzer, but so do Saana and Snaug ... though it's hard to tell how much of that is the alpha minion effect. Meanwhile Von Zinzer is a bit fuddled about romance and claims to want to get away from all the sparks -- I suspect Agatha's sparky aura will beat that, though.
Has Van expressed an interest in anyone, or vice versa? If he doesn't act first, at some point his grandfather will likely nudge him about the next generation of Doom Bell Ringers, but I don't recall anything like a romance plot around him at all.
I am torn on whether the mysterious assistant is best left a mysterious source of common sense, hard-nosed negotiation, and record-keeping, or if she'll turn out to be Interesting and story-ful like Higgs. Not likely this arc, anyway.
If Ivo Sharktooth story is canon, the "assistant" is going to stay with Vanamonde. I suspected she's another spy, perhaps quietly "turned" or more likely "lost" when her network was broken in all the chaos… after infiltrating exactly where she wants to be.

Ah, but on the previous page Madwa had already moved the lantern. So was her hand aging due to lantern being moved away from Valois's room, or by whatever was sustaining Valois?
Not directly on topic, but following up on the Moloch discussion above I re-read a big chunk of the battle of Mechanicsburg arc today, and found this bit to be amusingly foreshadowy.
