From her conversation with Tarvek, she's a scholar with a knack for turning up interesting artifacts (and given some of what we saw in Paris, I wouldn't be surprised to discover that she, too, fights heroic freestyle, as that's a fine way to make a mess of a museum or anywhere else, though she may prove to be more on the troublemaker side), and she might be a spark. She's the one who figured out which island they should start the investigation at. I expect she'll do a mix of pathfinding, locating and identifying interesting things, and tripping into trouble.
Also, Neena and Bang and maybe Higgs are the only sailors in the group so far.

For possible adversaries, presence of a Royal Princess is likely to be an incentive to try and take the valuable hostage, as opposed to blow up the entire team when they have a chance and maybe find out what Albia can do if she gets really mad.
