We were previously told that the castle was down for self-maintenance. It now appears that wasn't true; or perhaps it kept some peripheral monitoring active, to wake it up in an emergency.
My thought is that not being the real heterodyne either 1) der kestle doesn't have to take her orders but can pretend, or 2) it kept a small bit online to help her so she doesn't die, cos it knows The Mistress would be very unhappy with that.
The castle's entertainment will be cut short if the mob squashes her too soon. It does seem fond of mayhem. :)
Mechanicsburg does an excellent bloodthirsty mob. Will they kill her if they catch her (they're at least doing a good impression of that), or is there a ritual sacrifice/humbling/? a bit more severe than dumping the Dr. Plumm in the fountain?
