Take it with your own hands and carry the blame, huh?
It's how things run anyway. The battle may be lost for lack of a nail, but the one who carries the blame is not a nameless smith. And that's right and proper. They own it, however things turn. The fine Mechaniacs merely spell this out so that even the duckiest of their dangerous lunatics would get the reminder.
"It is you who carries the blame. For all of us." This sounds like the old rite where the leader becomes the sacrifice. The horned crown could symbolize the sacrificial animal. They certainly didn't kill the real Heterodyne every year, but Kaja may have walked into deep trouble if she doesn't know what to do.
