Madwa had Prende's lantern, and Martellus was hunting Margarella Selnikov who had Van Rijn's notebook which showed how/where to get the lantern, so it seems plausible to me that forces working for Marty attacked the sub. However sending the sub full of dead people on its way doesn't seem like Martys style.
More importantly, I don't think the yet unnamed woman is going to be Madwa.
