So, you're a Mechanicsburg everyperson minding your own business in the streets, the Baron is doing something weird, then you blink and the Baron is gone, the Lady is there, and there's all this nonsense suddenly over your head!

And you smile and think "It's so good to have a Heterodyne again, I've missed this!"

Perhaps not quite “missed this”, but… we did see the locals demonstrating high nonsense tolerance as a point of pride.

It's that or go insane, and the Heterodynes are quite enough insanity for one town. (Go away, too, I suppose, but that fixes itself.)

Sanity is situational. The residents of Mechanicsburg are generally well-adjusted for the delightful quirks of their hometown and its ruling family.
