She does have a point. She's a sovereign ("it's her town") and when relevant needs to act accordingly, at least if people watch. As such, she really have to involve her own forces. Dimo both knows the place and can vouch for Gil being "Hokay now" so that the Jägers and other Mechaniacs would stop hiding and join his alliance as soon as possible.
But yeah, sending one's bodyguards away before what looks like a fight is generally bad.
